Miu Miu's A/W 2005 collection explored tactility and colour, focusing on semi-formal ensembles in a rich variety of earthy shades. This shirt features the collection's signature paisley print on a substantial virgin wool twill fabric. The print is applied diagonally and its sequence is disrupted, creating a subtly fragmented motif.

Besides its directional fabric, the shirt itself is strikingly well tailored and its details are worth exploring further. The front closes with unusually small bronze mother-of-pearl buttons, leading up to a dramatic and structured point collar. The sleeves have wide two-button notched cuffs, while the back is shaped with long darts. The result is a rich garment that combines Miu Miu's playfulness with a certain old-world finesse.
